Question:
I am trying to promote our school in Illinois. We are moving in a couple of weeks and we are going to have a big open house. We are in need of anybody who is somewhat famous to possibly make an appearance or for some news media to be there. Does anyone have any suggestions! Please help
Answers:
Try contacting local authors... I don't know who that might be for your area, but it shouldn't be too difficult to research. Novelists, poets, even journalists... You could ask your local paper, maybe, if they have anyone they could send over. The writing + education connection is strong, so there is something for your guests to talk about, if they were to give a short speech, or else they could be on hand to sign books.
Call of the local TV stations, and call the newspapers and tell them.
you said: "We are in need of anybody who is somewhat famous to possibly make an appearance or for some news media to be there..."
my reply: "you guys don't need a famous person... all you need to do is understand who would want and why they would want to study in your school... and then be creative...
whether you guys are able to advertise successfully your school or not don't depend on how much money you guys have - it depends on what you guys really desire to achieve...
or if you guys still think that you need money to advertise your school... then attract investors and supporters...
