Question:
I have been asked to look for improvements in my local supermarket as part of my interview.
Any ideas what sort of things I could mention to keep the interview positive
Answers:
Hi I too have been for a interview with Asda and the sort of things they are looking for is to see if you can identify problem areas in the store (areas where displays could be improved, to catch customers eyes more.)
I would advise you to take a long walk around the store taking a notepad and pen with you, and just write down all the areas you think could be improved, even if it is maybe re-arranging a certain aisle like beauty for example maybe it doesn't effectively display the products to there full advantage. General things like that, but make sure you put in a positive comment before advising how you would do it, as I dont think they would take too kindly to you insulting there product display without some sort of compliment first. For example: The way the beauty aisle is laid out at the moment is nice, but in my point of view, you are not making full use of it as the higher priced items are on the lower shelves, when they should actually be on the eye level shelving to push sales more.
Hope that helped. Good Luck
The price drops, the new self check outs, cigarette sales only to over 18s in asda, stronger plastic bags in asda, encouraging people to recycle their own asda bags with the recycling box at the front of store...
Sorry they never asked me to decide they asked you, they want to see your initiative, not mine. And as I don't know your Asda store I cannot recommend improvements.
What I will say, is think about what you as a customer appreciate in other shops, and what you don't like when you shop at Asda, that should give you something to work on.
Space between aisles
Arrangements of products
Checkout queues
Hope that helps.
