I have put out babysitting flyers around my neighborhood, but nothing is getting people's attention. There are plenty of young kids around. What could I do to boost my buisness?

Go around and talk to people.
Advertising, kid friendly home, maybe a field trip once a week, meals included. That is what catched my attention.
Wait. Seriously, I did the same thing and waited at least 3 months and got a call! And also, those young kids might already have babysitters.
Talk to your parents' friends. If you talk to more adults and are mature they are likely to tell their friends etc. That is how I hit it big. I make at least 80$ a week now. Try it.
try to put the fliers on peoples doors. They have to notice them that way. Also try to really make ur fliers pop so they will catch peoples eye. Another good way is to list ur abilities. So they can see wat u can do and stuff. good luck!!
You need to talk to people directly. Have you tried knocking on doors and handing out flyers that way. Also, try becoming friendly with some of the kids. Then maybe next time mom and dad aren't going to be around, they might recommend you. Just remember to be genuine if you are trying to become friendly with the kids. Kids will be able to see through you if you are in any way fake.
It also may be helpful to advertise any first aid, CPR training you have, or if you don't have the training you may want to get certified. Your local first aid squad, hospital, church group or YMCA may offer a program.
You could also try advertising at a local library or community pool.

If I was looking for a teenage babysitter I would ask if you did weekends and if you were experienced with baby's or toddlers? Maybe you can answer these and add them to your flyer.
These days a flyer is not going to convince me to hire you to watch my children. I have to know you and trust you. Try talking to the parents and gettingt to know them. Offer to hang out with them while the parents are there so they can see how mature and responsible you are.
I think that people are much more likely to hire a babysitter based on references. Try and get your mom and dad to ask around their work places if people need sitters. I would also become certified, it is an easy class and really helps people feel more comfortable leaving their children with you. Also, if you already have people you are babysitting for, let them know that you are looking to pick up more clients. If you aren't sitting for anyone, see if you can go with a friend once to see what it is all about. It is a catch 22, I wouldn't leave my children with someone who had never babysat before. You want them to feel comfortable with you :)
Why don't you print some name cards, pass it to friends and relatives and have them help you to distribute it.
