Question:
I have used Yahoo Sitebuilder to create my website and have included a page title ("XYZ Official Website") and keywords (my category of business, location, etc) on my home page (and subsequent pages).
When using search engines to find my site the results list it under the heading "Home" instead of "XYZ Official Website". How can I get the search engines to use my title as the heading/hyperlink when it appears in search results?
Please note that I have already applied page titles to all of my pages. I am not referring to the the file name, I am referring to the title under page properties - they all have them.
Yet it still reads "Home" as the heading/hyperlink when search results appear.
This question has been asked before but I did not receive an answer that helped me.
Answers:
I am missing some key information
1. what is the web site?
2. what does the web site title say, when you go to the site?
3. when did you change the title? It takes search engines some time to pick up the changes. If you made the title change lately, just wait for the search engines to pick up the change you made.
In building your site, it was coded as "home" for the page title. You can go to your site and hit "View" from the top and then "View Source" or "Page Source" and scroll down. Under title, you will see "home". I haven't used Yahoo site builder, but you should be able to go back and change it to your website name and then home on the end.
