What are my odds of being hired at Starbucks?

Question:
I am 18 years of age, and attending Texas A&M University this fall 2007. There is a Starbucks literally across the street from my dorm. I have a combined two years of retail experience (cashiering, salesfloor, and certified digital photo specialist/photo technician) from Walgreens, my current employer, and Target. I was not fired from Target, but forced to quit because of relocation to Texas. Also, I have a family friend who is a manager at a different Starbucks location. I have good references, my current boss would definitely give me a good recommendation if they were to call...what do you think?

Answers:
You will definitly get hired, assuming they have hours they can give you. I worked at a starbucks for 2 years-- started my sophmore year of college. I loved it. Just make sure to call the manager back 3-4 days after your interview because managers there are usually scattered and unless their desperate, won't take the time to call you back.

The thing that sucks about starbucks is sometimes you have to wake up at 4:30am on saturdays-- and thats hard to do in college.. good luck!
Sounds like you're a shoe-in, as long as you can make it to an interview, you've got a job. It's not rocket science, it's a coffee shop

Starbucks Coffee Company is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, national origin, gender, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, veteran status, or marital status.
It probably depends solely on if they are hiring or not and if it right across the street from your dorm I am sure they are full of working college students. But I say give it a shot anyway. And really make your application stand out by listing all your references and everything, good luck!
