Question:
Hello, I study business at college and I was just wondering about a possible situation.
What if 2 people, one residing in the US and one in Europe wanted to start a business, but also wanted to have 50/50 legal powers and also 50/50 as figure heads for the company.
Do companies usually have 2 CEO's? Like CEO of North America and CEO of Europe?
Or would one have to be CEO and another COO and then each one have another title as President, North America and President, Europe etc?
Thanks
Answers:
It is indeed possible to have joint CEOs and I've attached some examples for you. You don't have to read all the articles, suffice to know that joint CEOs do exist. They can exist for various reasons, for e.g. following a merger where each CEO is responsible for his own area of expertise, or the responsibility can be divided geographically with 1 CEO in each continent, etc.
