$660 million dollars - How did the Catholic archdiocese of L.A. arrive at that amount to pay abuse victims?

Question:
Also, how are they going to pay them? I prefer answers mainly from people who live in Los Angeles - the city & the county,or,from other Southern California residents.

All week long,I've heard TV news reports about the payout, but, haven't heard about how & when the amount was arrived at,or how & when the victims will be paid.

Answers:
The attorney pool is getting 60% of that amount. The rest is divided up by the victims by some formula that we'll never hear about. You can guess it's by the severity of the abuse and length of time it happened to each victim. The Catholic church is rish beyond your wildest dreams.
Vatican $
they calculated what it would cost to defend a class action lawsuit in court and they cut it in half, alot goes to the attorneys anyway the attorneys like it because they get paid for doing nothing the victims got screwed again
He didn't the Vatican did. Nothing get's paid without the Vatican's approval. They want this mess settled because it is giving them a bad name.
