im not a lawyer or anything.. but what basically happened was circuit city was supposed to give me something for a price of 5 dollars..now theyre refusing to give me the price.. after we had a verbal agreement.. ive already reported it to the better business bureau.. and waiting on further action.. wouldnt this be like a "breach in verbal contract" or something.. ive called the 800# and everything.. no one seems to wanna follow up with this. im just wondering as to what i can do now.. obviously im not gonna go to court over something this small.. but theres alot more to the situation.. in cluding horrible customer support along the way.. i know its not illegal to lead on customers and treat them like crap.. but there has to be something sort of consumer law that was broken here.. any answers?

Civil suits fit almost any business transaction, even one like this, but that's about it. The cops aren't going to come and force the manager to give you what you want.
Ha, my parents bought a computer from Best Buy, and purchased that service protection plan. Sure enough, the computer malfunctioned, they took it to be serviced, and Best Buy sent it to California! It took like 2 freakin' weeks for them to fix, then they wiped the harddrive without either calling and asking first, or making an easy-to-make backup disc! What the heck! THEN, when the computer finally came back, they CHARGED an extra $25, even though they bought the service plan! And when my stepdad tried to argue, they treated him like Adam Sandler on the airplane on Anger Management. "I need you to calm down, sir..." and he wasn't even raising his voice!
Crappiest service ever! There was a lot of stuff lost that was on the harddrive, like photos and documents, and all they had to do was make a backup disc as a courtesy, but they didn't.
Put the details in writing and copy to local trading official. Dont threaten, just state the facts and leave them to reply.
