Question:
I've just checked two pay as you go mobile phones that I rarely use, but as I'm going on holiday I would need them.
In both cases they displayed unregistered sim (two different operators) even though they were used a few monhts ago.
On checking the web sites I find that they de-register you if you dont use them regularly.
I don't mind that but they also snaffle the outstanding credit, in my case about £20.
What a splendid rip off! A nice little earner for the fat cats.
Answers:
I had the same problem with a Vodafone I was (rarely) using.
I called them up (on a landline) and they reactivated it without me losing a penny.
My suggestion is to call them.
BTW since I still don't use my mobile, I make a 2 second call to my landline every couple of months just to keep the phone activated. A bit irritating since it costs 12p each time but better than losing the remaining credit on the phone.
Switch to 3 network-plans are simple and great support!
Please name and shame them.
its called leverage. like 18 month contracts.
I suppose you didn't read the terms and conditions before you started using the phones. If so, more fool you. Always RTFM.
