First you have the physical need, the most fundamental. This would apply to needing to eat, having enough rest, drinking fluids, bathroom breaks, etc.
Second is the safety need. You could list a number of things based on employees. E.g. safety gear, knowledge of harmful substances in area, security, etc.
Then there's the need for belonging. Employees need to feel like part of a team in order for all to fulfill this need.
Esteem need is fourth. This would go in terms of being acknowledged and/or rewarded for good work. Management can't always tell them they're doing things wrong; they need encouragement and praise. Also, they need to be treated with respected, not like robots or minions.
The last and highest need is that of self actualization--wanting to help others, having a prejudice-free environment, striving to do the very best, etc.
Maslows need Theory:
1). Material requirement: Water, Food, Rest and others.
Example: A person coming in hot SUN in summer, his need is drinking water but not milk.
2). Personal safety: Safety boots, hand gloves, goggles for eyes.
3). Affiliation: the need for belonging to a group, team or a batch, to fulfil this need.
4). Recognition for good work done: Self Esteem.
( Child after completing his home work, he expects a pat from parents - well done my child).
5). In case he crosses all the above, self actualisation--wants to help others, a prejudice-free environment, striving to do the very best, etc.
