-Their factories are like prison camps
- The factories in Vietnam paid its workers wage less than cost
Answers:
I haven't heard nor seen anything about this -
what are your sources?
Along the lines of what any large corporation does when it manufactures products. Do you think that made in china stuff comes from people with a living wage and freedom?
1) I would have been happy to actually work when I was 13 instead of sitting in the joke that was school at that age.
2) Have you seen some of the schools now? Metal detectors and all. You actually have to go there and sit in this chair all day long or you break the law and you are a truant.
3) I'll assume that wage less than cost meant they created a system that constantly made the workers indebted to the corporation. Charge $10 per hour to sit at the chair to work and pay $9 per hour for work. Or the old walk all day in the hot sun for $200 and pay $250 for nice cold water and food (optional if you want it). I think that's a weak move, but it's the kind of thing that just shouldn't last long.
4 the win..I like my jordans and I don't care who made them. They're comfortable and I like the way they look. I love my Nike+ kit and my air zoom moire +'s. I'm down for my Nike hoody, sweats, and shirts. I used to really HATE Nike stuff. I still dislike most of their gear. But am I going to delude myself into thinking that clothing manufacturer a) Nike is any different than clothing manufacturer b) prada? Hell no. They all do the same thing. You might find one ethical brand that has low quality or looks terrible, and that's life. You think it might just be a little exaggeration..maybe?
