Question:
Answers:
All three credit bureaus have their own way of calculating your credit score. Only Equifax uses FICO.
You have to understand that not all lenders report to all credit bureaus and some do not report at all.
Add to this that there are 3 different types of bureaus regular, auto enhanced and factual. The regular one is the one you get if you look at your own credit or the one that is pulled when you apply for a credit card. Auto enhanced is what is pulled when you apply to purchase a car and factual is the one that is pulled when you want o purchase a home.
This means that between three credit bureaus and three types of bureaus one person can have nine different scores.
Not exactly. All the main bureaus have their own score and different products. The only true fico score is the one generated by a combination of factors and by Fair Isaacs Corp, which the accronym Fico comes from. Take a look at www.myfico.com to learn more about the factors and scoring. Credit Bureaus have now started their own competing Fico score but it hasn't gotten into as full a use yet and it's not called Fico.
