Need some help please?

Question:
hello,

Here is my problem, please anyone who knows what will happened answer me.

I used to have a checking account at TCF bank in michigan, and my account got closed for being overdrawn and went to the collection, i have then paid the collectors, anyway the bank know changed to Independent bank, I still have my checks from my closed account t tcf.

I have a credit card and I added my checking account from my closed check information, and the routing number was wrong on the old check, so I looked up the routing number online and got the new one and used the same account number, I have paid my credit card and it posted as paid, but my account is closed ?? and then I used the credit card money.

What is the worse thing that can happen to bee, as now i am worried and do not know what to do , also how did it get paid since my account is closed, is it possible my account number is given to someine else ? because tcf was changed to independent, ??

please help me

Answers:
That's bank fraud sweetie.

You knowingly used information on an account that was closed to obtain money. When your account was closed, you should have destroyed the checks...the routing number nor the account number should have been used.

Banks have routing numbers, and then an account number attached to it. You can't come up with your own combination and use it...b/c the bank doesn't have an account open for you.

It may take them a few months, but when they catch you, they could very well prosecute you.

I would call the bank, play dumb, and pray to God they let you work out a payment arrangement without having you charged with a felony.
You might well be in a federal prison by Christmas.

You've engaged in fraud, and perhaps wire fraud as well. If you think there are harsh punishments for bouncing checks, you ain't seen nothing yet.

You need to see a lawyer *NOW*.
When you have an account and have a problem situation like you experienced, then you must talk directly with the bank, preferably with the bank manager at the branch you deal. You can't go off just doing your own thing, you must "communicate".

First you said your account was closed. Then you said something about the bank, in essence one bank took over another and they changed the account numbers. You need to call that bank and talk with them saying to them the same thing you told us.

I don't understand how you are using a "closed" account, nor how you are paying on a credit card and then using the money. This makes no sense to me. And I don't understand why you talk about being in a mess but that you don't talk to them to find out just what is happening with your former account. Sounds to me like you're really making a mess of things, and that's just my opinion, but then again you haven't told us the entire story so we can't make a final judgment on the situation.
