I don't know specifically about Wells Fargo, but in college I was able to cover my expenses through my student loans from sallieMae and CitiBank.
SallieMae also lets you choose other lenders, so maybe Wells Fargo will be one.

Your college bookstore might have some programs for your situation. Also, there are the Rent To Own places like rent-a-center that also would be a good place to look at.
Everybody starts without a credit rating. Just talk with the bank.
