Question:
ok my mum was put on tv a couple of years ago and made to look really bad in the job she was doing! she is nothing like they have made her to be. her past is catching up with her as she has recently got into a really good job that she loves but someone where she works says they have a video of her on this tv program and is threatening her so she may lose her job. this has happened a couple of times before what can she do to get people to see her for what she really is?
Answers:
Look they can't fire your mother if they can't prove that she's not doing the job properly. If they do fire your mother for being on a T.V Show, then your mother has the right to sue her employers for loss of income, especially if she signed a contract at the beginning of her employment stating that she'll be working with them for a period of time.
Meanwhile, caution your mother about "work place gossip". She hasn't been fired yet, but it might be a good idea to let her employers know that she was on a TV show. She should point out to them that her time on the tv show was a joke and not factual. Hopefully the employers will see the funny side to the whole experience too!
Depending on the situation she was in before that caused all this she will have to prove herself again and again. It's just the way people are. We tend to use stereotyping and judge people before we even know them. It is in our nature. The only thing she shouldn't do is to try and argue about it. If she really did something she has to tell those people that she did it but she is great at doing something she is at now. If people don't like her the way she is they will use every little excuse to get rid of her. But trust me not all are the same. Hope she finds a great and understanding employer.
***To ALL employers!!!***
Guys you need to give everyone a chance to show what they can really do and let their personality to bloom and not try to rush and suppress.
