My previous company's HR dept. refuses to send me an employment verification letter. What are my options?

Question:

Answers:
I work in HR, and what kind of letter do you need? To verify that you once worked there? Or verify that you no longer work there? There is a lot of information that is confidential, however, not to the person whose name is on the file. I would go to the place of your last employment, and pick up a copy of what you need. some companies won't fax personnel info, so, originals are the only things handed out. I wouldn't call them, I would just show up. That way, they will do what you need while you wait. That kind of "lights a fire under their ***!"
Good luck!
Ask for your W-2? Might work. It proves that you worked for them. Good Luck.
You can go into the IRS and get a print-out copy of your employment verification from their files.
I would say go to your nearest labor dept office
Do you have paystubs or W-2's that you could show as proof?
