What is the bank transfer fee for a none UK resident (no account) to execute a bank transfer to foreign bank?

Question:
I have a UK cheque pending for delivery to me. Someone advised me that he will open an account in my name in UK bank. Because he is going to make a bank to bank transfer, he is asking from me for 950GBP to activate the account and the bank will proceed the transfer within 48 hours. Please advise me ASAP.

Answers:
Dont do anything. To open a bank account in a British bank you need to prove your identity. No one can open one in your name. Banks do not ask you for that much money to acivate an account. You are most likely being swindled. dont give them any money, its a big con trick.
Do it yourself. It is not possible for someone to open an account in someone else's name
Under no circumstances give any money to this person.Go to the UK bank with your passport, rental agreement and utility bills and you can open your own bank account. There is no such think as a transfer fee unless it is to a bank in another country.(just occurred to me,are you in the UK?).
dint let anyone open your account for you this is very hard and against the law
hsbc has a passport account that you can have a debit card it will cost you £5 per month at the end of 12m they will give you a cheque grantee card and banking will be free all you need to open the account is your passport and proof of your address back home and you can open it online
