What are NJ Laws regarding kicking out your sig other from your apartment?

Question:
What are NJ laws regarding kicking your significant other out of where you live? Especially if their name is only on the lease as the "other adult" - credit check and the actual signing of the lease was under the other person in the relationship. Can it be done without bringing in authorities or the landlord?

Answers:
No it can not be done without authorities, and you can not evict them either, and neither can the landlord w/o evicting you too. They have as much of a right to the property as you do. The only way to force them out would be a court order from Family Court, and it will be VERY HARD to get since you are talking about a rental.
