Question:
it only seems fair since they dont need the money and we have to pay tax when we need it!
Answers:
Yes of course they do..
Although some do live in tax havens to avoid paying uk income tax.
Yes, they pay income tax like everyone else.
Yes, they get taxed and they pay a TON too. While they get deductions you and I don't, all those deductions are legitimate given their occupation. Same goes for athletes.
if not they should do!
yes they do. that's why some choose to live away form there home land. like Monaco or Jersey.
It depends on where they are.if they are a resident of a no tax country then no taxes...or if they are a resident of a country where there are low personal taxes then they pay very little.most film stars will have their money managed in off shore investments minimising their tax liability..they can afford to shift their income around and pay minimal taxes..hardly fair!
Yes.
Yes, yes. Everyone here has to pay taxes.
yes they do they aint no different from us x
Yes they do fortunately, film stars & singers are some of the most highly paid earners in our society today, if they didn't pay taxes, ordinary people like you and me would have to pay a hell of a lot more than we do now.
After saying all that, they pay very high taxes that is the reason the majority of them have mansions, keep lavish parties costing a million each, Rolls Royces & the rest, private jets, Luxuary boats and so to offset the level of taxes that they would pay.
Yes the Beatles used to pay 90pence in the pound,,,, thats why alot of them live abroad now ,,,,,they can only perform for a limeted time in his country,,,,,or should i say stay,,,,
Oh yes, they get taxed a hell of a lot.
Yes they get taxed , but saying that , they have accountants that make sure they avoid paying the full amount
Yes they definitely do. But sometimes they have clever plots to avoid i. Like the Spice Girls in 1997/8 were on tour around the world for almost a whole year so they got away with paying a tiny amount and saved on millions!
Sure, why wouldn't they?
Of course they get taxed, but just like everyone else they are entitled to take deductions related to earning their income. And just remember, not all actors/actresses/singers make it big, most either have to take second jobs, or just make enough to get by.
As the others have said, yes of course they do. Many many years ago, I dealt with Elton John's tax affairs. Every year, the Inland Revenue takes a random sample of people's earnings in order to find the average pay in the UK. One year, Elton was included in this sample check with the result that the average UK wage for that year was quite a bit higher!
